Description
This certified organic Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is a product of Italy. We offer it in our store since a local Italian business had a stockpile. They asked for our help to clear it out. So here it is!
Each bottle is 500 mL. You can also buy a case of 12 bottles. They make an excellent and elegant gift, also!
Our balsamic vinegar is delicious on the Caprese salad featured in this picture. A Caprese salad uses fresh mozzarella, such as our Fior di Latte.
Here is a recipe for a Caprese Salad. (FYI, it’s called a Caprese because it comes from Capri, an island in the south of Italy off the coast of Napoli).
The intense flavor of balsamic blends very well with the fresh cheese. Use it for more than Italian salads however. Any green salad or chopped vegetable salad blossoms with the sweet, deep flavor of balsamic. Also, you need very little to flavour a salad well.
If you haven’t tried this kind of vinegar yet, you will love it. This Italian vinegar is dark, sweetish, and concentrated. You make balsamic vinegar from “grape must”. That’s freshly crushed grape juice with all the stems, seeds, and skin still, before you filter out the solids.
Balsamic vinegars are aged for many years in wooden barrels to get the sweet, intense flavours. Balsamic vinegar is actually a protected product in the European Union. Ours is the protected Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. Made from organic grape must, and blended with organic wine vinegar.
Ten Spices that Go Well With Balsamic Vinegar…
Basic, garlic, ginger, lemon zest, oregano, rosemary, sage, salt, thyme and white pepper.
You can also use balsamic with cured meat like prosciutto and salami. It is excellent on grilled fish. Also, it works very well in meat marinades and for fruit marinades. Guarantee that it really pops if you drizzle it over fresh berries and ice cream. And it makes an excellent garnish on custard desserts also.
